Kettering General to improve the way it reports patient waiting times

We will work closely with Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to understand why patients are waiting too long for treatment once referred.

About the trust

The trust has suspended the reporting of its Referral-to-Treatment (RTT) times after concerns that it may not have accurate waiting time data.

We want to understand the extent of the issues the trust has had with its waiting times data. The trust has taken steps to address the concerns, and we will see what further support it needs to make improvements and what action is needed to reduce patient waiting times.

Next steps

We want the trust to be back in a position where it can reduce the time that patients wait for treatment and report its referral to treatment times confidently. This is our opportunity to see where improvements can be made and we will continue to support the trust in this.
