Reporting into London’s Regional Chief Nurse, Professor Oliver Shanley OBE, the new role adds to the expert professional leadership for nursing across the capital.
With more than 30 years experience in NHS and clinical leadership roles, Angela brings a wealth of experience to this new post, and I am delighted to welcome her to NHS Improvement on a substantive basis.
Professor Oliver Shanley

I’ve been made very welcome while on secondment to NHS Improvement, and I am looking forward to continuing to work with providers and teams for patients across the capital.
In her new role, Angela will provide expert nursing leadership for the development of quality and clinical assurance for the provider sector in the capital, and will lead our work in London on nursing workforce, mental health, maternity, patient experience, and infection prevention and control.
Angela is a registered nurse and sick children’s nurse, with a clinical speciality background in neonatal intensive care.
