Non-executive Director, Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

We’re looking for someone to join our Board of Directors - a person with real drive and enthusiasm, who will share our passion for creating a hospital that gives patients the best possible care and offers our staff a great place to work.

Non-Executive Directors at Chesterfield Royal Hospital have the chance to see things from a different perspective. It’s a unique opportunity to appreciate patient and staff experience first-hand, as well as the challenges and potentials within the organisation.

Rated ‘GOOD’ by the Care Quality Commission in 2017, you’d join an organisation that serves more than 400,000 people across North Derbyshire’s varied communities. We are the area’s largest employer - with 3,900 staff working at the hospital, in the community and in GP surgeries. With a £235 million budget we care for and treat around 360,000 patients every year – 70,000 of whom come to us through the doors of our 24 hour Emergency Department. Thanks to a history of sound financial management we have invested well-over £100 million in new developments and facilities over the last ten years, to create a modern and welcoming site with the very best facilities.

If being a non-executive director appeals to you, you’ll need to demonstrate recent substantial experience at senior or Board level, with a proven track record in delivering top quarterly staff satisfaction within their sector and experienced in organisational development. Personal accountability for staff communications in an executive role would be preferable, as would experience within the IT or Data industries so as to have an understanding of these issues to bring to our Board.

If you have a strong focus on good corporate governance; can support and constructively challenge and think you share our values, we would welcome a conversation. We are also keen to increase the diversity of our Board. We welcome applications from people living with disabilities and from any race or religious background, as well as those from the LGBT communities.
