Self-certifications due by Friday 30 June

Board secretaries please note that by Friday 30 June:

  • your boards need to sign off remaining self-certifications under the NHS provider licence
  • self-certifications under condition G6 of the NHS provider licence need to be published on your trust's website

From mid-July our regional teams will notify providers they've selected for auditing compliance with the requirement to self-certify.

Help us shape the data collection process on cancer waiting times

Implementing the new cancer waiting time standard is a key aim of the cancer improvement programme we're developing with NHS England.

As part of this, NHS Digital's Burden Advice and Assessment Service (BAAS) team is evaluating an application to collect data for this programme.

This consultation seeks views from your operational leads working in and across cancer services on the changes to the dataset and submission process proposed for implementation from April 2018.

Find out more and submit your views by 11.59 pm Friday 16 June.

Nationally Contracted Products (NCP) programme update

Our NCP programme has worked closely with NHS Supply Chain to simplify the way you order NCP products and how they appear on the electronic catalogue.

Aggregating national demand for couch rolls and blunt-fill syringes – the first two items in the programme – is on track to save the NHS more than £2 million through central purchasing. As nearly all providers have committed to their volumes, we want to ensure those savings are realised and continue to grow as more products come on stream.

For all future NCP products – you will only be able to order the awarded suppliers’ product codes from the NHS Supply Chain catalogue – all other codes will be unavailable for the life of the commitment contract (usually 12 months). We are building a dedicated NCP catalogue with NHS Supply Chain to offer greater visibility of these savings opportunities.
