Criteria-led discharge resources
Criteria-led discharge has many benefits to patients, trusts and staff, including increased number of weekend discharges and moving the time of discharge to earlier in the day.
Feedback from trusts in our criteria-led discharge improvement collaborative indicated they would like more support in this area, so we developed new resources, including a policy template, alongside Dr Liz Lees-Deutsch, Consultant Nurse at University Hospitals Birmingham.
Improvement fundamentals online courses 2019/20
Learn about quality improvement theory and how to measure and spread improvement with our free and self-directed online courses. These include videos, articles, discussions and practical exercises that contribute to your own improvement projects and are worth 2.5 CPD points each.
Video on safe terminology to describe thickness and texture of modified food
We have published a short animated video to support our patient safety alert, resources to support safer modification of food and drink.
It outlines the need to eliminate imprecise terms such as ‘soft diet’, to prevent the risk of patients with chewing or swallowing difficulties coming to harm if given inappropriate food. It also introduces the standard terminology framework for modified food and drink.
