We’ve released the final draft of the proposed national prices for 2017/18 and 2018/19. The proposals have been issued in advance of the formal consultation on the 2017/18 to 2018/19 National Tariff Payment System to support the planning process. The documents we’ve published are:

  • proposed 2017/18 and 2018/19 National Tariff Payment System and glossary
  • proposed currencies and prices for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 National Tariff
  • additional information on the innovation and technology tariff

We’ll include these documents in the consultation which we’re planning to publish on Tuesday 8 November. The consultation will run from 9 November until the end of the day on 6 December. If you have any queries on the process, please email pricing@improvement.nhs.uk.

Have your say: draft 2016/17 annual reporting manual for foundation trusts

Foundation trusts, we want to hear your thoughts on our draft guidance on producing your 2016/17 annual reports and accounts.

We’ve summarised the principal changes being made in the draft guidance compared to the 2015/16 guidance to make it clear what could be different.

Tell us what you think by filling in the response form and emailing it to FT.Accounts@improvement.nhs.uk. The consultation closes at 5pm on Friday 18 November 2016.

This guidance does not apply to NHS trusts who should refer to the Department of Health’s Group Accounting Manual.

From Step Up to Serve: encouraging young people into the health and care sector

Our Chair Ed Smith has become an ambassador for the #iwill campaign that aims to encourage more young people into health and social care by involving them in campaigning, fundraising and volunteering activities.

Young people are already volunteering at a number of providers, including Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, by guiding visitors and offering support on wards.

If you would like to join the campaign, or if you already have young people volunteering at your trust and would like to share your experiences, please contact the #iwill campaign’s Health and Social Care Manager Lucy Goodwill.
