Professor Keith Willett update on Article 50 extension

Professor Keith Willett, Medical Director for Acute Care and Emergency Preparedness and our Strategic Commander for EU Exit, wrote to you on Thursday 18 April, about the further extension to Article 50. His letter covers the actions that now need to be taken locally to continue to prepare for the UK’s exit from the European Union.

Urgent and emergency care (UEC) webinar: spreading good stories

This webinar series is an opportunity for clinical staff to hear and learn from what others have done to overcome barriers and improve care for people in UEC services.

The next webinar tackles the challenge of finding and keeping good clinical staff. Dr Dan Boden, Emergency Medicine Consultant and Regional Advisor — East of England, will share what he did to tackle this problem, the difference it made, and what you can do differently.

Same day emergency care workshop

Monday 29 April – Friday 24 May, 9.30am-4.30pm, London, Taunton and Leicester

This workshop supports providers of Type 1 emergency departments working to meet the objectives of the NHS Long Term Plan, and to develop SDEC provisions to meet the national ambition of 12 hours per day, seven days per week by September 2019.

The workshop will be repeated at various locations, so please book on to one session only.
