Model Hospital expanding to ambulance, specialist acute, community and mental health trusts

As part of our work to implement Lord Carter’s hospital productivity recommendations, the Model Hospital online information system is expanding to include early benchmarking data for ambulance, specialist acute, community and mental health trusts.

The data will go live on Monday 17 April and you can access it via the Model Hospital website. More data will be added for these trusts over the coming months.

This letter provides a full overview.

Resources to support delivery of ‘Reducing the impact of serious infection’ CQUIN

We’ve developed these resources in partnership with Public Health England to support your delivery of the national ‘Reducing the impact of serious infections (antimicrobial resistance and sepsis)’ CQUIN.

If you have questions about the collection tools or the baseline data please email CQUIN@phe.gov.uk. For all other enquires please email e.cquin@nhs.net

Supporting foundation trusts to develop new care models

New care models involve providers working in different ways, potentially supported by new organisational forms. We need to ensure that when foundation trusts set up new organisational forms to support joint ventures with other providers we are able to continue to oversee quality and use of resources, and support improvements in performance.  We’re planning some adjustments to our licensing framework and we’ll be working with these other providers to develop these plans in more detail and our expectation is that they will be overseen in the same way as trusts and foundation trusts under the Single Oversight Framework.
