The panels will help ensure that our future metrics and benchmarks are consistent, comparable and robust so that we can understand what a good corporate service looks like.
They will also advise on the use of other metrics, not included in the benchmarking reports, which may be used on the Model Hospital to provide a more holistic view of the productivity, efficiency and quality of corporate services.
Corporate services functions
So far, we’ve had an excellent response from finance, procurement and HR leads to form those panels, however we still need support from leads in the following areas:
- information management & technology (IM&T)
- governance & risk
We'd like our seven expert panels to meet regularly to initially review the definitions of the data in their specific areas; then ensure that the data we collect and receive is consistent, comparable and robust.
We expect this to be a quarterly commitment, with possibly the first few months being more regular as we get started. The duration of these meetings will range from one to three hours and may be online, via conference call or face to face based on the scope and complexity of the subject matter being considered.
We'd also like our expert panels to work closely with
the Model Hospital team to ensure that the data we’re collecting is presented
clearly and accurately so trusts and STPs can identify opportunities to improve.
