This guide draws on the learning and experience from providers and is aimed at individuals who are leading or working closely on retention issues.

The NHS Employers guide for improving staff retention has been updated for April 2019. Aimed at employers, the guide was developed from work which took place during 2016-17 and has continued in partnership with NHS Improvement in 2018/19. The guide is a useful resource that offers general advice and guidance as well as case studies of what can work in practice.
