Mental health acute flow improvement tool

(0)

An intuitive data visualisation tool that gives providers of NHS mental health services and their stakeholders extensive information on flow through the adult acute inpatient pathway.

Overview

Trialled with 25 teams including eight providers, we have developed this tool to help you meet expectations on providing high quality mental health services, as set out in the Long Term Plan.

The tool provides extensive information on patient flow across the mental health inpatient pathway and allows users to:

  • appreciate and understand where the bottlenecks and strains are within the system and implement plans to tackle them
  • use this information to implement plans that can help see and treat patients more quickly
  • have an overview of flow and performance against key national priorities (for clinicians and operative staff)

The tool uses a wide range of existing data sets covering each stage of a patient’s journey, so won’t create an additional burden on you. It will also improve conversations you can have with us to get the tailored support you need.
