These documents are only
mandatory for NHS foundation trusts. NHS trusts prepare a quality account but
not a quality report, however the documents contain guidance for NHS trusts who
may choose to adopt the principles applied by NHS foundation trusts.
The requirements for quality accounts are published in a separate letter.
Describes the detailed requirements for NHS foundation trusts submitting their quality reports.
Explains how NHS foundation trusts and their auditors should carry out checks on the quality reports.
As explained in section 1.4 of the document, we have published the Detailed guidance for external assurance on quality reports 2017/18 in draft format. This page will be updated with the final version in February 2018.
