We've partnered with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management to produce a programme to support and develop medical leaders aspiring to the role of medical director.

The medical director’s role: a guide for aspiring medical leaders PDF, 1.5 MB

This guide informs aspiring senior medical leaders about what the medical director’s role entails, what skills and experience will help them succeed, and offers support on how to develop.

The medical director is key to any organisation that holds high value, high quality care at its heart. However, we know that more needs to be done to prepare individuals to take on the role. We're working with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management to address this.

We want the next generation of medical directors to feel supported, to have access to appropriate development, mentoring and peer-networking opportunities, so they are prepared and have the best chance of being successful in the role. We are therefore delighted to present The medical director’s role: a guide for aspiring medical leaders.
