Treatment Escalation Plans (TEPs)

Medway NHS Foundation Trust implemented the use of Treatment Escalation Plans (TEPs) to ensure that every patient has their ceiling of care considered and documented formally, in line with the national initiative.

Escalation planning and resuscitation decision-making is essential to ensure effective patient management. Medway NHS Foundation Trust introduced TEP forms in September 2016, which are to be completed by a consultant within 24 hours of admission.
