Updating the Single Oversight Framework: your views

We recently ran a feedback exercise on the updates to the Single Oversight Framework 2017.

In September 2016 we published the first Single Oversight Framework (SOF). The framework sets out how we oversee NHS trusts and NHS foundation trusts using one consistent approach, and helps us to determine the type and level of support that you need.

We've updated the SOF to reflect changes in national policy priorities and developments in our approach to provider oversight. We also clarified some of the details in the document, in response to feedback on the first version.

As the SOF has been in place for just over a year, we have not changed the underlying framework itself, or our approach to monitoring, identifying and responding to your support needs.
